Position Statements

Ethics San Mateo will issue a “Statement of Position” (SOP) when we find that a breach of ethical standards may have occurred. We will also issue an SOP “Ethics Watch” when we believe something has occurred which should be monitored and thus, we are shining a light on it. We base these Statements of Position on verifiable facts and clear, convincing, evidence. If we find we are incorrect in an assessment, we will correct ourselves. All SOPs are reviewed by the Board of Directors for approval and are not published without a majority agreeing to release the statement.
